Driade
From Pop Art and Arte Povera, minimalism and Memphis, “neo-baroque” follies and the new purism, the activities of this diverse Italian family business fluctuate greatly. Since 1968 this company has been associated with the history of design, an almost unparalleled source of stimulation and inspiration. Behind this is a similar kind of “story” about a family. The founders of Driade comprise, Enrico Astori as director, his wife Adelaide Acerbi (the brains behind the corporate image and communication design) and his sister Antonia Astori as architect and product designer. Driade’s usual suspects include superstar designer Phillippe Starck, with his three-legged Costes armchair (a harmonious blend of wood, leather and stainless steel designed for the Parisian café by the same name), as well as the Royalton and Neoz ranges. Driade produce youthful, exciting and sculptural furniture for any interior.
