Martinez Otero
Still a family run business, Martinez Otero has been designing and creating furniture since 1942. The company is based in La Estrada, a district in the city of Pontevedra in north-west Spain.
They have developed a fresh and funky approach to functional storage. In collaboration with London design house Pearson Lloyd, Martinez Otero have created a range of truly astounding practical modern furniture.
The combination of chic London design and quality Spanish materials and workmanship combine to produce one of the most eye-catching furnishing ranges currently available at Leigh Harmer.
Practical Contemporary Storage Design
The Horizon range of storage systems borne out of the partnership between Pearson Lloyd and Martinez Otero is made up out of 9 completely unique pieces. Each item is designed and built to the highest specification. They are created to add style and functionality to the modern home, maximising space with their deceptively diminutive size.
The furniture designed by Martinez Otero is not only extremely stylish but hugely practical. Coming in a variety of shapes and sizes, the Horizon designed storage systems are built to fit in with rooms of all sizes. The wide flatbed style PL5 piece at 8 foot is the broadest storage system in the range, ideal for larger rooms where space isn't at a premium. Alternatively smaller varieties like the PL1 and PL2 of a simple and compact solution and larger, more upright, items like the PL6 combine limited floor space with vast storage room.
Quality Materials & Finishes
The storage systems are produced using the finest sustainable wood and is finished with an exciting blend of vibrant matt lacquer and a contrasting wood veneer. With furniture built to order, you get the option to choose the colour configuration that best suits the dcor of your home. So whether you want an effervescent green or a more sedate weng veneer, you can ensure that your furniture is right for you.
Martinez Otero's Horizon range all include mirrored edges. The mirrors on the side elevations create an illusion of extra space within the room and depth within the furniture. Featuring on the smallest single drawer PL1 design and through the more expansive multi-layered storage devices, the mirrored side aspect are a real feature of the range.
