Alexander Taylor
Alexander Taylor is a relative newcomer to the world of design. With his range of practical and bold products, Taylor has quickly established himself as one of the brightest lights in modern British design.
Iconic British Design
He made his breakthrough in 2003, and by the end of 2004 Alexander Taylor had already designed pieces for Thorsten van Elten, Aqua di Parma and E&Y, as well as exhibiting in London and Tokyo. It was a year later in Rome that Taylor first exhibited the Fold design lamp for Established & Sons; something that has now become something of a cultural icon and a signature piece. It's stance as a design icon has since been confirmed by it's inclusion as a permanent feature in New York's Museum of Modern Art in 2006.
The Fold lamp is just one of a number of Alexander Taylor's pieces that we currently stock at Leigh Harmer. It is joined by an impressive selection of some of his most up-to-date designs, including the Tank pendant light, Antlers clothes hangers and the Kids-Rock rocking chair.
Striking Modern Furnishings
The Tank pendant is one of Taylor's newest designs and marks a continued working relationship between Taylor and Established & Sons. Released in 2006 it marks a progression, even an evolution, from the original vertical design of the original Fold lamp. The striking design combined with vivid colouration creates a head-turning piece of modern interior furnishing. Its unmistakable style has made it an extremely popular feature in chic modern homes and commercial premises alike.
The Antlers clothes hangers and Kids-Rock chair show the more playful side of Alexander Taylor's design. Antlers are a colourful and quirky hanger for clothes, which perhaps unsurprisingly take the shape of a deer's antlers. The Kids-Rock chair is a wonderfully crafted and colourful miniaturised rocking chair, designed with kids in mind. Both these products combine attractive modern design with exceptional functionality suiting them to all homes, as well as making ideal gifts.
